Hush

by Sue-Ann Wan

Flowers -

A shade so rare, its purple unforgettable.

Petals cut so deep, its touch unforgiving.

Seduces the eye, betrays the flesh.

Feet –

Running, naked against the grass.

Running, like every moment her last.

Chasing,

the killer of her past.

Blood –

Crimson tears stain her legs,

The hems of her dress a violent red.

But, her feet silent to the pain.

Soul –

Unhurt, untouched, what’s left – not much.

Empty, except a cage that rattles a heartbeat.

“Too easy of a kill,” he says.     Hush.

Heart –

Weary of its trials and tribulations,

Patience tested by his selfish actions.

Fighting to no longer remain silent.

Sorrow-

Releases its cage at long last.

She feels death, wrapping its touch,

and –

in split seconds, she takes a leap of faith,

            to  freedom.

Hush.

NEW YORK FASHION WEEK IN FIVE MINUTES

I have way too much to say so I won’t say any of it.

This is the entirety of my week. New York Fashion Week in 5 minutes. 3600 digital frames. Everything I saw from the street. There’s no shows, just the streets. This is all of it. Whipping by at 1/125th of a second, which is my usual shutter speed. This is how fast I saw things, and this is how fast you get to see it.

Cheers.

The Regretful Song

how often have you looked at your life and realize that a lot of things aren’t the way they’re supposed to be?

this song brings out a lot of sadness in me. i know it’s not a typical sad song with soft piano and really emotional lyrics, but the weight of the truth brings me down so badly.

and then you walk into the room, it’s so sad, everybody already knows -
my someday’s gone now.

remember all the plans we made? to grow old together and die? did you forgot? cuz i didn’t.
